Choose
I don’t know where I read it, but recently I came across this quote:
“What good does a spiritual person gain by following what her flesh is saying?”
Ouch!
How often do I default to what my flesh is dictating, instead of being led by the Holy Spirit?
Too often I fear.
But it needn’t be that way. The apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus, “…walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.”
And…“Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.” Ephesians 5:16-18, 24-25
I know it boils down to focus.

Truly I must ask myself whether I’m being influenced by the world or by the Spirit?
I’m making choices even when I’m not aware of doing so. How about you?
May we humble ourselves before God and obey His Holy Spirit, allowing His voice to be louder and sweeter than anything the world can offer. Shalom.
